Hollywood Star Andy Garcia is in Georgia

Hollywood star Andy Garcia which, presumably, will play role of President Michael Saakashvili in film about the Russian-Georgian war, today has arrived to Georgia. At present he is in Batumi. The director of film is Renny Harlin a film has already begun in Tsalka region of Georgia. They shoot battle scenes, taking part in the filming tanks and other heavy equipment. Shootings will pass also in Vardzia, Mtskheta and Tbilisi. It was reported earlier that the film will tell the story of American journalist and his operator, who find themselves on the territory of Georgia during the Georgian-South Ossetian war. Heroes have to choose between the profession and sympathies to the local population. Harlin argued that the film will not anti-Russian, anti-Georgian and anti-American: he is anti-war Filming will come to the end in November. The picture shows at cinemas in May. Almost two-hour film will be English-speaking. Leading roles in him will play foreign actors; Georgian actors will execute supporting roles.

    Maybe, as an American, Mr. Garcia would like to visit an international school while here. Spread some …something or other. New School Georgia would be a good choice.

    It’s quite interesting that a major film star is interested in something to do with Georgia and their angst, past hopefully not future, with Russia. The wolrd certainly isn’t very interested.

    It’s a struggling country but trying without much support.

    I am hoping that he will be accurate as to what really happened over there and not glorify Saakashvili for a possible/questionable American political agenda?
