Russian Militaries Have Entirely Robbed Military Bases in Poti

Russian militaries and armed teqniques have left Poti military bases.

They have been robbing onshore defence base and port of marine forces during the whole day.

Russian troops loaded the high-spead motor-boats of marine military forces on the ‚Urali‘ mark vehicles. They have entirely robbed the military base carrying out everyting that was possible under the given circumstances; all the rest has been destroyed.

Poti military base was entered by 26 trucks, live force of Russia’s regular army and military techniques.

Medvedev Pledges To Scrupulously Respect Agreements

PARIS (AFP)–President Dmitry Medvedev told French President Nicolas Sarkozy that Russia will sign a cease-fire accord with Georgia and respect all agreements, including a troop withdrawal, Sarkozy’s office said Friday.

In a discussion with Sarkozy, Medvedev “confirmed that he was also going to sign the agreement and that Russia would scrupulously respect its commitments to the accord, notably the pullout of Russian forces,” the statement said. Russian military troops looting coast guard base in Poti

Russian militants and heavy artillery have entered Poti, on the territory of naval forces. Russian soldiers are looting base and port of coastal guard. Russian occupants are loading “Urali” cars with loot.

Russians militants are totally destroying Georgian infrastructure, remains after first attack of Russian aviation. Reportedly, 23 Ural trucks of the Russian forces and two armoured vehicles were deployed on the base territory.

Truth about “Russia Today” TV Channel

British reporter, William Dunbar, for the state funded Russia Today has resigned following the channel’s extremely biased coverage of the conflict in Georgia. And I’m not surprised! They have a genocide banner on screen every 5 min in their 24/7 coverage and they only show footage of Ossetian civilians and Russian casualties. They do report what the Georgian government says but it’s usually countered by Russian statements or cannot be substantiated. Read more…

Georgia signs cease-fire agreement

TBILISI, Georgia (CNN) — Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili signed a cease-fire agreement on Friday, which the U.S. said means Russian troops must begin withdrawing.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the priority now was “all Russian troops and irregulars that entered Georgia with them must leave immediately.”

Rice said international observers should be dispatched quickly to Georgia and its separatist regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia where Russia currently has a peacekeeping mission. Read more…

Russian air jets are making fire beds in Borjomi gorge, – declared in that regard Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Eka Zguladze at today’s briefing.

Merkel condemns Russian military offensive

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and the German Chancellor Angela merkel held a joint briefing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Friday Russia expects Georgia to give its written consent to the principles for settling the conflict between Georgia and its breakaway region of South Ossetia, the Interfax news agency reported.

Now these principles should be accepted by Georgia and need to be followed, with guarantees from Russia, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE. I hope this will happen in the near future. We expect relevant information,` Medvedev was quoted by Interfax as saying at a press conference after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sochi.

Merkel condemned the Russian military offensive against Georgia as “disproportionate,” after talks with President Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi, southern Russia. She said Russia must withdraw its troops from Georgian territory outside the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Russian Military Troops Are Robbing Manufacturing Plants on Vicinity of Gori

As the owners of an asphalt manufacturing plant Shara Ltd. reported InterpressNews, representatives of Russian military forces also robbed their plant on August 14. Concrete mixer and Kamazi type vehicles were carried out from the plant territory, in total 4 units; office equipment has been taken as well. The Manufacturing plant is located approximately in two-km distance from Gori-Tskhinvali highway. The similar situation is observed in other small concrete and asphalt manufacturing plants located on the vicinity of the mentioned highway. Russian troops are burning the fuel tanks existing on the plant territory.

Timeline by 15th of August

16:10 Russian soldiers kidnapped 4 member of Namgalauri family from village Ghogheti of Kareli district. Kidnapers moved towards Znauri.

15:30 Russian helicopters are overflying Bordjomi-Tsemi forests and dropping fire setting engines. There are already from 12 to 15 fire locations. Russian military confirmed of flying helicopters over this territory without further comments.

13:00 One Turkish and two Reuter’s journalists (one of them were Georgian citizen) were detained by Russian soldiers in Poti. Read more…

Turkish journalists attacked in Georgia by Russian troops

(CNN) — Video that aired on a Turkish television network Thursday showed reporters from two stations ducking for cover and saying their last prayers as their vehicle came under attack in Georgia.

Several journalists have been caught in the shooting between Georgian and Russian forces
One reporter was shot in the head in the attack, which happened Sunday, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. All the journalists involved were safely back in Turkey on Thursday.

It’s one of several incidents in which journalists have been caught in the shooting between Georgian and Russian forces. Read more…

Bush warns Russians against bullying

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Bush on Friday chided Russia for Cold War-style behavior, saying, “Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century.”

Bush said the United States stands “with the people of Georgia and their democratically elected government.” He said the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity “must be respected.”

Russia keeps up blockade of strategic Georgia city

GORI, Georgia – Russian troops on Friday allowed some humanitarian supplies into the city of Gori but kept up their blockade of the strategically located city, raising doubts about Russia’s intentions in the war-battered country.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Georgia

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has arrived in Georgia. Condoleezza Rice visited Georgia following the held talks with President of France Nicolas Sarkozy. As scheduled, Condoleezza Rice will hold negotiations with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today at presidential residence in Avlabari.

A meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and President of France Nicolas Sarkozy took place yesterday evening. Reportedly, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner also attended the meeting. Both sides have absolutely openly expressed firm support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Georgian Orthodox Patriarch Ilia II departs in Gori

Georgian Orthodox Patriarch Ilia II, along with representatives of Georgian patriarchate departed for Gori, hit hard in recent fighting.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II intends to send a letter to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and Russian Patriarchate.

Yesterday Catholicos-Patriarch requested safe transferring of the wounded from Nikozi and Tskhinvali.

Situation in Zugdidi and Senaki has been reported to be stable

The situation in Zugdidi and Senaki has been reported to be stable for the time being. Russian militants are conducting patrol routine in Zugdidi. No displacement of any additional forces has been noted.

As reported, Commander of Russian peacekeeping zone of southern zone is meeting with Zugdidi leadership at present. No other details with respect to the ongoing meeting have been voiced as yet.
